Since 2004, Dr. Ken Thomas has served as an orthopedic spine surgeon at Foothills Hospital, where he combines his clinical expertise with a commitment to advancing the field of spinal surgery.

Dr. Thomas began his academic journey at Queen's University, where he earned both his pre-medicine and medical degrees. He then completed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Ottawa, where he developed a strong foundation in orthopedic principles and surgical techniques. To further refine his expertise, Dr. Thomas pursued a clinical spine fellowship at the University of Calgary, gaining valuable experience in both traditional and minimally invasive spinal procedures. His dedication to research led him to a surgical and research fellowship at the University of British Columbia (UBC), where he also earned a Master of Health Sciences degree.

Throughout his career, Dr. Thomas has made significant contributions to the field of spine surgery. He served as the former head of the Combined Spine Program at the University of Calgary, where he was instrumental in developing collaborative treatment protocols and improving patient care outcomes.
